10 Tanker Air Carrier Not Relocating to Casper

Saturday, July 13, 2013

Casper / Natrona County International Airport Manager Glenn Januska announced today that 10 Tanker Air Carrier’s planned relocation to Casper and the Casper/Natrona County International Airport will not occur. Januska said that he learned about the company’s decision on Monday. “While we are obviously disappointed with the news, we understand how they came to the decision they did,” said Januska. “In looking further into winter storage, aircraft maintenance, and operations under a new contract with the U.S. Forest Service, relocation to a cold weather climate didn’t make as much sense to them.” The Airport’s working relationship with 10 Tanker started last year during the fire season where they proved their value as one of their DC-10 aircraft was used from the Casper/Natrona County International Airport for fires in Nebraska, South Dakota, as well as the Sheep Herder and Jackson Canyon fires. “10 Tanker is a great company who provides an invaluable service,” said Januska. “We support the company and their operations knowing that their services will be needed in Wyoming in the future.”
